The Lost Close is looking for knowledgeable, passionate and energetic individuals to join our team as Tour Guides & Tasting Hosts.

This is a dynamic, dual-purpose role where no two days are the same. You will:

• Bring history to life with compelling storytelling, historical insight, and theatrical flair

• Lead engaging and informative walking tours of Edinburgh’s Old Town.

• Ensure guests are safe, comfortable, and immersed in the experience.

• Host intimate, premium tastings of whisky, gin, and beer in The Lost Close’s underground venue.

• Share knowledge of Scottish distilling traditions and tasting techniques.

• Create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.

• Be part of the daily events schedule we offer for the guests of The Court

We’re Looking For:

• Confident communicators with a passion for performance, history, and hospitality.

• Previous tour guiding, hospitality, or performance experience (preferred but not essential).

• Strong knowledge of Edinburgh’s history and/or Scottish spirits – or a willingness to learn quickly.

• Reliable, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

• 18+ due to alcohol service.

Hours & Pay:

• Zero-hour contract

• £12.50 - £14.50 per hour
